No. 20 {emerald green & loving it}

September 14, 2011

Hellooooo! Remember back 64 years ago when I showed you my design board for No. 20? Then to tease you even more, I gave you a sneak peek of No. 20? Did that post make you think that I was going to show you the whole thing SOON? Well, I didn’t…sorry about that. I could tell you about all the reasons why it was soooo drawn out, but.…YAWN. This guy just needed a lot of love and in a time of many distractions. Such is life.

BUT…here he is.…emerald green & loving it…
No. 20
{sorry for the table & chandy in the way.…it was rainy for a week and I had to work on it in our house. I am liking it in MY dining room though…with all my fabrics– right?}
No. 20 {before}

The fabric is vintage and I only had enough to do this ONE PIECE. So, I can’t do this combo again.…sad.
No. 20

Handsome legs…
No. 20

I thought about doing the inside a cream color, but wanted to keep it simple and green so the fabric panels would stand out more.

No. 20

I happened to have the perfect wallpaper for the drawer that matched the fabric…YES!…

No. 20

As PERFECT as this piece looks in my dining room, we are not keeping him. SO SAD. I really really tried to get Nathan to see why we needed it. I do love him (No. 20) (and Nathan too).

All that to say, he is looking for a good home and you can go grab him now in our shop.

No. 20

I kind of documented some of the process for this one and I want to do a little tutorial on it in the next few days. It will be my first “how-to” on furniture, so we will see…

Cheers!

    Number 20 is beautiful!  What color/brand of green did you use?

      Thanks! As for the exact color– most of our colors we will share, but we have a handful of favorites that we keep as our “secret sauce” for 508 (this emerald is one of them). I will say that you should pick an emerald that is brighter than you think you want and then by the time you distress and put a stain or wax/stain finish then it will end up the PERFECT shade. For No. 20, I used Fiddes wax (rugger brown). And usually, no matter where I find the color, I stick with Behr paint. Its a goodie.
